The Pub Order UK Table Service App

The app is the front end of a sophisticated order management system designed with one main goal in mind - protecting workers in the hospitality sector and their customers from Covid-19. We still don't know much about this virus, except that it is very dangerous. But we do know that it can spread in the air and by touch, so keeping apart as much as possible and not touching each other or objects that others might touch are pretty sensible ways to behave.

The current UK Government guidelines for Pubs and Restaurants includes as Step 1 (under 2.2.2 Service at the venue):

Encouraging use of contactless ordering from tables where available. For example, through an ordering app.

Nobody wants to 'regret [being] complacent in enforcing these rules...'. We need to understand the risks and work together keep them to a minimum or infection rates will rise and the hospitality trade will be shut down again.

This app:

Removes the need for customers to gather in a queue or at the bar to give their order or to pay
Removes the need for the customer to spend time indoors
Reduces direct person to person and person to surface contact

It is fully supported by a sophisticated suite of tools:

The management tool allows you to create and update your menu with names, descriptions and prices, buttons to assign the options and extras for each item and an instant 'out of stock' button, for that moment when something sells out
The orders tool allows preparation teams and servers to see orders coming in and update their status - instantly informing the customer about progress
The management tool also comes with sales reports, a table name manager, a preparation process modeller (if you want to get fancy)

Try it. Install the Android or Apple iOS version. When you start the app it will ask you to scan your table QR code. Scan this.... You will then be presented with a demonstration menu - choose a few items and then review your shopping cart to get a feel for how it operates. This live demo will allow you to place your order (its a demo though, so nobody will respond to your order if you do go right through to the end stage).
